Front Cover

I really wanted every part of this book to spark joy — from the front cover, down to the very last page. With the front cover, I knew that I didn’t want to toe the traditional book cover route, where —the author’s name, title, subtitle and other “essential elements” are all crunched up on the front cover. One, i’m a rebel — two, I knew it wouldn’t fit the aesthetics of the customer profile I had created in my mind.

My ideal customer has an artistic eye. She is very chic, very organized and loves romanticizing every aspect of her day or at least, aspires to. So, I wanted to create a weight loss guide that isn’t just informative but also integrates stunning visuals that give the book that design edge as well — it’s a book that can sit cute on your coffee table, night stand, office desk or even your entryway console.

We were so intentional about how we used the colors. For instance, Orange is a combination of red and yellow and both colors are often associated with passion, warmth, optimism and excitement —and Pink is such a stunning color that’s associated with; love, kindness and femininity and these are things I still want you to feel regardless of where you are in your weight loss journey. So, to marry the idea, I wanted an imperfect paintbrush stroke of the word LEAN in pink, over the background color, orange and it turned out perfect!

Owner’s Name

I created this page as a way to — one, reinforce the fact that you are already the dream girl. Two, to create a sense of ownership that kind of marks the beginning of a new phase in your life. Now, in anticipating some of the problems that may arise, I wanted to create a way for people to get in touch with you if your weight loss guide ever went missing — and I didn’t want it to be something as direct and personal as your phone number, that’s why we used email instead.

Task Pages

The Dream Girl, Fit Body weight loss guide is divided into two sections. The first part is the BOOK itself —the other part is what we call, Task Pages. Task pages are pages that help breakup those gigantic goals into manageable tasks. So, let’s say, your goal is to go from 98kg to 54kg, there’s a task page specifically designed to help you keep track of your weight as it changes. I’m a huge believer that what gets measured gets accomplished and that’s why there’s a task page for every trackable area of your weight loss journey. One of the main reasons I was able to lose over 72lbs of fat and 6 inches off my waist was because I was keeping track of all of these moving parts and because it can get overwhelming, we’ve designed the guide in a way that makes it an enjoyable activity.
